St Bernadette -
Our Patron Saint
it is indeed apt for the I.J sisters to have chosen St Bernadette as the patron asint of Convent Batu Gajah . Her simplicity , perservance , piety , and courage is contained in a nutshell through our moto 'Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty'.
Bernadtter was the eldest daughter of poor french peasants . As a sickly shepherd girl , she lookes fragile buat had great self-assurance. In 1859 , Bernadette had visions of the Holy Virgin Mary. She was firmly attached to reality , to what she had seen and heard. Her spontaneous adherence to what she was reflected her dedication and duty towards her religion .
Many disbelieved Bernadette and she was subjected to humiliation and intimidation. Yet, she was patient and firm in relationg her testimony numerous times. She suffered a freat deal but she bore it with joy .
Bernadette died on April 16,1879 aged 35 . The church proclaimedsaint in 1933 . What makes St. Bernadette very distinct is the fact that her body has been miraculously preserved till today .
God moves in mysterious ways . He has preserved the body of our patron, Saint Bernadette perhaps to serve as a paradox to us keep the Convent spirit ever burning, to learn from her and emulate her exemplary character

School song ( the original song )
Holy infant Jesus, Hear
Thy Children's Prayer
Help us to be like thee
kind and just and fair
Guide us in our labours
guard us in our play
Simple in virtue growing
Day by day
See our badge the cross is
raised gold we choose for thee
silver too as kings should have
and red for calvary
marguerites in garland-a
sign of purity
holy infant may our badge
always honour thee
Let us always steadfast be
in duty to our king
to our parents , teachers and all
that life bring
let us ever humble be , as thou
at mary's knee
let our hearts stay pure as
sweet offering to thee
Holy infant Jesus , Bless our mother dear
Bless our teachers and our school
and all that we hold dear
when we leave our school behind
and make our way alone
be thou always at our side
and guides us to thy throne
Well Done :) Thank you very much from your seniors Class1975
